I've just got back from a great day out at Stapleford Park. Birthday treat for an old codger in his last few days in the forties.
The welcome we got was one of the friendliest from any staff I have experienced. Granted the Pro shop was almost non existent but that didn't matter as we had all we needed anyway. Weather was great and for a change the golf was not too bad (34 pts)and there was only us on the course bar one two ball.
Only real blemish on the card was an 8 on the 2nd where I went OB. The course itself was in great nick, although it appeared a little bit bland to start with it I grew to appreciate the nuances as we went round. Some very undulating greens and strategically placed bunkers. All in all a good day out.
