I was playing out of a bunker following rain a few weeks ago. The sand had the consistency of porage and I felt the shock of the impact in the wrist and forearm. It's been diagnosed as tennis elbow, but in the 'other' arm...hence golfers elbow

This was only the second round with the new clubs too.

Since then I am not able to play at all, although given the weather we are having in the Midlands I probably wouldn' be playing anyway!

The condition just doesn't seem to be improving at all, despite rest, visits to a physio and various pain reflief options.

Anyone else suffered, or got any ideashow this can be helped along....better yet....how long it takes to repair?

Tennis elbow is on the outside of the fore arm, golfers elbow is on the inside of the fore arm.

For tennis elbow, a police man stop type stretch is a good exercise (arm out in front of you, palm raised in a stop gesture).

Either of these can take up to 2 years to go away.

Physio can help.

Not sure you can get either from one impact, mine crept up on me after a day of cutting my hedges with hand shears.

Best relief is to wear an epicondylitis clasp (ebay it), which is a strap to put round your fore arm when you play golf. I have worn one for 6 months (only while playing), and my tennis elbow has pretty much gone. I don't think you ever truly get rid of it, but it is now just a niggle.

I'm still sffering from a painful right wrist (on the left hand side as you look with the palm up) which really sends painful shockwaves through it everytime I hit a bunker shot or a chip from a heavy lie. I've tried ice, neurofen and a wrist support but its getting no better. Its slightly puffy as though suffering from bruising but not responding. With the season hitting a peak in the next 6 weeks it'll have to fall off to stop me playing
