Golf without Tiger is like....

Golf without Tiger is rather good actually. No obsessive coverage of only one player, no fevered speculation about whether he can birdie the next 11 holes and set a clubhouse target. No action replays to see if he properly released the club when he banged it on the tee.

Is the correct answer.

Got to agree I'm no tiger hater but it seems the coverage is more balanced without all the circus that follows him around. I'm enjoying it more.

I agree the coverage is better but there is still a tiny, tiny, tiny bit of this weeks events lacking for him not playing. I don't for one second think you can say anymore it wouldn't have been the same if Tiger had played liek you may have been able to say four or five years ago because clearly the guy isn't performing. However there is still an element of "what will Woods do" that is lacking. I hope he gets back enough to at least get into the top 10 in the world again but doesn't it look strange after all those years of domination to see him not in the top 20

D'ya know what lads I could not disagree more! Without the smiles and fun that Jimenez has brought with him what we are left with is a bunch of boring pro's with the personalities of lettuce leaves. Tiger brings excitement to every tournament. You just know he gives 1000% to every shot. Yep he may hug the coverage and TV directors give too much exposure to him but there is no denying he brings something special. Like him or loath him every major is a sad affair (no pun intended) without his prescence.

totally agree, it,s not the same without seeing tigers name on the board, sounds like alot of people on here are hoping he,s finished, why would you not want to see the best player of the game ever playing as long as he can, he.s got the best medical help you can get, he will soon be back( injury permitting) you dont get as good as tiger and then just forget how to play,

Couldn't agree more.

-1

We now get the above with Rory.

I've been listening to 5 live a lot these last two days - work and all that donchaknow.

They've mentioned him 3 times - twice to say that it's strange not talking about him.

Peter Alliss put it best in an interview. I paraphrase:

His skill will be missed. He is always respected and admired, but never loved, the way the greats are.

Tom Watson is loved and will be missed, Seve is loved and is missed.

Many people wish Tiger cared enough to make people miss him.

Golf without Tiger is like.........like........Brilliant. I love it, cant stand the petulant, arrogant git.

Hope he's gone for good, and whatever he wins in his career, will never be talked about like Nicklaus, Palmer, Seve, Watson, and a whole host of others.

Tiger is missed! Always good to see him playing well as the current crop of pros are funny looking and dull, my hopes are pinned on fella whose warm up includes a cigar and another with bad memories of a bunker - couldn't give a toss about the clones with different clothes that the system seems to churn out. Golf is a whole lot less interesting recently. Seems an obsession to pick the next superstar - not even sure any of them fit the bill!

It's funny how we remember past careers with rose-tinted glasses. Seve was not adverse to controversy ... Seve link . Plus that recent BBC Seve tribute program also covered the other aspect to Seve.

This is not a jab at Seve. Just getting some reality back. I think when Tiger retires, we'll look back at the highlights of his golf rather than the lowlights of his personality. Well, I hope so...
