Played today with some people I've not had the pleasure of playing with before.

And I'm so blooing glad. What a utter set a miserable buggers. I must have talked to all 3 less than 4 times.
Today was a texas scramble. I was really looking forward to it as I enjoy the format and is usually a good laugh.
I paid my entry and went to get warmed up. These lot rock up 1 min before the tee time. We all tee off and walking down to the ball I pick up my duffed tee shot (The first of many today) only for the feckers to then tell me they aren't playing the comp today. NICE!!
Wont be putting my name down with them again.

To top it all off I couldn't play for toffee today. Not one good tee shot. Nearly knocked myself clean out after hitting a ball flush into a tree and it coming back at me with vengeance.

Hopefully tomorrow will be better

What a damn shame, sorry for the crap day mate. We all play bag golf so meh but having to play with people like that sucks as its ment to be your fun day out.

I guess some play for the love of the game and others are just ducking the wife.

Sorry, but looks like a two way breakdown in communication here. If it's a Texas Scramble that's a team event, even if they were late on the tee a bit of communication would have saved a lot of stress and angst as the day went on.

How were they able to tee off whilst a team comp was on the go anyway ? Was the tee not booked for a period of time for the texas scramble teams to tee off ? :D

Sorry to hear about that mate. It looks like you tagged on to a cliquey 3 ball.
Look on the bright side, hopefully you won't have to suffer playing with them again.

Wasnt even that garry. They just didn't talk all round. Most odd. Two of the blokes knew each other, myself and another feller jumped in on there round. The little few times I spoke to them it was really forced from their part.

DCB- You enter into the comp (You sign in and get your entry number). You can still play as "normal" if you want. There are no set aside tee times. I presumed they had entered the comp (wrongly, but I've not played with peeps that haven't entered the weekend comps).

Surely there is some requirement to sign up in groups or be drawn in groups of you are paying to enter a Texas Scramble.

Our club doesn't run any type of Roll up system. Our team events you just simply put your team mates entry numbers onto your card and mark the score accordingly. There is no need to sign up as a team.

Unfortunately there are plenty about. Played a Moray 36 Hole open last year with a guy who barely said a word in two rounds great day that was... :( Miserable C*nt

Imagine what these fellas are like at home,dire..these blokes should keep well away from golf courses, its their only way of meeting other people,or the jeremy kyle show

That's a shame. On the opposite side of the coin, Hawkeye played his first game as an Ascot member today as part of the normal greedie/swindle I play in. We were low on numbers today for various reasons but he was welcomed in no probs at all. I think (hope) he enjoyed it and at least he is guaranteed a regular game same time every week if he wants it.

I have played with a few members that don't say much on the course but there again don't say much in the bar either. They never come across as rude but its just their way. Mind you the group the OP played with do sound a royal pain in the backside especially if it was supposedly a competition that wasn't. Put it down to bad luck and let it go

I know how you feel buddy, I had to play with Fabian and Andy last weekend, good job Andy Snr was a decent chap!

There's one guy in our swindle I don't think I could play with again. If you stood anywhere but directly behind him (back to you) he would moan, dispite trying to keep eye on he's ball in the low spring sun, he's that bad that ten of the swindle group are going Spain but they haven't invited him because less and less people will play with him

what a difference a day makes. Played this morning in the sunday texas scramble.

Havent laughed so much in a long time. The amount of new dirty jokes I know is unbelievable. Played a million times better too. Even put the driver back in the bag for a giggle and it went like a rocket all morning. we got 39.4 points from 14 holes. Just not good enough. Not nearly enough birdies.
