after last Saturdays tornado, i which my golf umbrella was ripped to shreds, i popped into the Mizuno dealer at the range in Inverness to get a new one....

£29.99 daylight robbery... I'm sure the last one was about £15...

how much is a good golf brolly worth baring in mind any real wind will rip any of them to shreds?

You had me going there, I've just been counting up how many golf ones I have in my head!

Anyway £19.99 for a double vented one would be my top wack. But its always fun to pick up a freebie on some corporate golf day or tournament & usually decent enough quality

3 by the way, I have three golf umbrellas, a black srixon, an old slazenger and a course branded Anahita one in bright orange ;)

I have used Gustbuster brollys for a while now only had two first one was nicked but the other is fine. They were a bit dear about £30 + but worth the money.

ironically the best golf umbrella i ever had never saw a golf course the whole time i had it. A lynx double canopy with springs on the struts. got it a a corp freebe in the late 80's. must have been blown inside out a fair few times and always sprung back. left it in pub in St Albans .

Tell me about it, I bought a motocaddy umbrella with the clear window section. Let's you see where you are goin and lets people see how beautiful I am.
First time out at Wollaton, wind blew umbrella and trolley. One broken umbrella. Won a adidas umbrella which falls to bits. Looked at a nice new one £40 flippin spots.

That Anahita one would look better in a wet and windy uk than Mauritius slab.

If someone let's their brolly blow inside out, or leaves it slotted into their trolley in a strong wind and it subsequently breaks, that's not the fault of the brolly.

I don't see a poll. Just the one for me ;)

A Ping one I won in their 4BBB competition about 5 years ago and it's still going strong.

I've got a Ping double canopy that I've had and used for about six years. It has been used in very heavy wind and rain without issue, can't remember how much it cost, but has been worth it. Looking to replace now as the white is now decidedly off white brown. £30 seems a bit steep, but like anything we buy, quality usually comes at a cost.

Spent £24.95 on a Wilson umbrella about 15 years ago which I thought was robbery at the time. Has the vents for wind and not as big as most......and I'm still using it. Don't agree that they are a waste of space, they are the perfect thing to keep you nice and dry when you are walking in.

I have one of those too, mine has a foam handle that does not seem to stay firmly in its holder on my trolley. I actually do not like brollies and rarely use it unless there is no little or no wind.

Woodworm is the way to go. Was 3 for a tenner about 3 or 4 years ago. I still have 2 left. You don't need to spend stupid money on a brolly. You can but you don't need to.

Having read through this blog twice, not read anywhere that folk are saying it is the fault of the brolly. Think folk are gobsmacked at said price of brolly.
