I’ve got a Motocaddy s3 digital. I love it, been a staple for a while and always looked after it.

BUT…

Last session, my axle came out of the gearbox after 4 holes which was delightful. It’s been running very poorly for a couple outings, so I put it down to it must being the gearbox when the shaft came out. Bought a new replacement unit from Motocaddy, just fitted and still runs very slowly. I’m talking on speed 9, it doesn’t have umph to move from a standing start. Take the wheels off the ground they spin, the speed control works noticeably from 1-9 so it can’t be the speed control? It’s a virtually brand new battery also (and swapped for a friends Motocaddy battery and the same). What would the logical next step be? I don’t know enough about motors to know if that’s faulty - knowledge of electrics is it rather work perfectly or not at all!

I’m decently handy so happy to test and try out.

Seems cheap, but I don’t believe I need to buy a new trolley when all it needs is a bit of TLC.

Check the connections, could be a loose connection on either power or earth.
Failing that the new part is faulty.

Could be the brushes in the motor.

Knowing how motor brushes display their issue, I doubt it.
Is the gearbox the right ones, or fitted correctly?
Yes was exactly the right one went through Motocaddy directly. It’s running exactly how it was before the shaft on my last one decided it didn’t want to be a part of my trolley anymore
