Golf Trips/Rounds Planned for 2025

What is Bedale like nowadays? I was a junior member there in the 90s, not been back since!
I thought it was lovely. Played Catterick, Richmond and Bedale on consecutive days and Bedale was my definite favourite of the three. Generally good condition with lots of wildflower areas which were very pretty. I also played fairly well that day, even snuck into the prizes, so that could be colouring my judgement.

Is he paying? :D
Is he paying? :D
yep, though not to get to N Ireland. He is flying up to Inverness then we were going to go RA, then Carnoustie stay in Broughty Ferry then onto Muirfield stay in Edinburgh. he does have an ulterior motive for me going to PR and RCD, he want me to take his clubs back with me

Got the St Andrews Winter Package again at the end of the month - Playing the Old, Jubliee and New. Plus playing Bamburgh on the way up. Praying to the weather gods are nice to us as its two of my mates first time at St Andrews.

Long weekend in Leeds booked for June. Usually play Scarcroft & Moorallerton etc then go watch the cricket in Headingley.🍻

Nothing abroad booked(n)(n)

Stress levels reached new heights this week booking Glenbervie, easy, Lundin Ok, Silloth reaonably difficult, soon filled up, Boat of Garten, difficult because of registering on Golf Genius App which I dislike. Finally the nightmare today with The New at St Andrews. Being abroad the internet was poor and after I picked a time before I could scroll down it had gone. Finally got a slot around 12 which was good.

Completely full after 3 minutes. I think Scottish members take an A Level Course in how to book Opens!

Bit of good news today, been upgraded to Rusacks Hotel as our original one is now having a refurb :) :) :)

Hellidon Lakes, yes it has a swimming pool, gym and bowling alley, but the course itself is nothing special
You weren't the only one giving Hellidon a ropey review, so we had a rethink and ended up booking our trip at the Cotwolds Club instead. Meant to be really nice, and they were doing it a very competitive price as well. (y)

And my wife plans to visit Clarkson's Farm on the way home, which is only 8 minutes away from there.

I was in Stow-on-the-Wold in September, thought I'd 'pop in' to Diddly Squat Farm Shop. Two hour queue to get in put paid to that idea. I like the show but why would anyone queue for two hours to buy some chutney on the off chance they might get to say hello to someone they've seen on the telly?

To show americans aren't all coming over for open rota courses

Wales Trip:
North Wales
Conwy
Royal St. Davids x2-4
Abersoch
Nefyn
Pwlheili
Porthmadog
Tenby
Royal Porthcawl (in an open)

Ireland Trip:
County Louth
Carne x 4-8
Enniscrone
Sligo

I didn't play golf when I was young so, despite having spent the first 18 years of my life living within 5 miles of them, I've never played at Hollinwell or Coxmoor golf clubs.
Hoping to stay at my dad's place just outside Mansfield for a couple of nights in the spring with a few pals and play one of those two plus a couple of less expensive courses in Notts.

Also a trip to Clacton and Frinton with the crowd from my old club.

That be the Atlantic Challenge I think... great value when we played it a few years ago.

I'd pick Coxmoor over Hollinwell every time.

Played Hollinwell the week prior to the Brabazon twice last year and the course was great, have pot played Coxmoor but if it is as good as you say then to have two great courses close to one another must be a bonus for people nearby.
