Im looking at playing somewhere with 3 mates of mine in April time. We want somewhere thats got a couple of decent tracks so we can play a different course on both days and somewhere thats going to have some decent nightlife around it so we can go and have a few beers in the evening.

All 4 of us are around the same level, between 10 and 16 Hcap. Dont mind challenging courses but would need to be somewhere relatively northern as I dont fancy driving us all down south for a weekend!

Dont want it to be massively expensive just somewhere that we can have a good craic and some beers and play a couple of nice courses.

Cheers,
Jates

Woodhall Spa
Hawkstone Park

To have golf courses and nightlife is a push

Belfry and then you have the Bel Air
Celtic Manor

North East near Newcastle/Middlesbrough, plenty of courses and plenty of night life

Portal or Carden Park both have 2 good courses and are just outside Chester which has decent nightlife, you can get good deals on the golf package websites as well

Southport.
Liverpool
Leeds
Harrogate

There's loads of places, look at staying somewhere with the nightlife and then look at a couple of courses nearby.

Do the trip that my mates and I did in September.

Stay in Leeds (great night out).

Play - Moortown, Alwoodley (both 10mins from centre of Leeds) and drive across to Ganton near Scarborough.

You'll struggle to play 3 better courses in 3 days!

"but would need to be somewhere relatively northern as I dont fancy driving us all down south for a weekend!"

Le Touquet- great town surrounded by very good courses and only 1 hour south of Calais.

So you suggest a 300 mile drive south followed by an hour across the channel and then another hour drive from Calais!!!

Doing it with 16 guys in April but we break up,the trip to the Chunnel with a round somewhere close followed by a cheap night in a premier inn.

You wouldn't be disappointed.

Missed the bit about staying local.

We've recently just booked 3 nights unlimited golf for £250 inclusive of flights to Portugal. Cracker of a deal, done it this year and been buzzing to go back ever since!

If you time a stay at Carden Pk to correspond with Chester Races you won't need to go out anywhere.... the hotel will be rammed with crumpet until the early hours of the morning.

Some nice tracks round North Wales (I'm assuming you'll want out of Cheshire). I've done Royal St Davids and Nefyn before, stayed over at Cricieth. But there also Portmadog or Abersoch in that area. Then you've got a load up on the North Wales coast. Maesdu, North Wales are right next to each other in Llandudno. Plus there's Conwy etc...

*I've probably spelt most of those wrong...

If they play at Sandbach that is practically on their doorstep.

The Fylde, North wales or around Southport would all be handy.

We go to Keithly.Stay in Travelodge right next to Tobey Inn for food (breakfast) and warm up beer. Cracking Turkish restaurant 10 mins walk into the town itself, which has a Weatherspoons. No sure about the ladies and clubs, were all too old for that stuff!!!! Loadsa courses within easy reach. Bingley St Ives being a top one.
