Saunton today and yesterday, first proper golf of the year. Full bag and powakaddy, in contrast to carrying a half set. Didn't even need to clean the ball...

Not sure I can face the scheduled in-land round on Saturday.

I have been suffering with not being able to get my driver off the tee recently. Last night at the range I think I have cracked it (hopefully not getting too ahead of myself)

I haven’t had one for around 3 years and I really miss it, chuck your clubs and shoes in there and you’re good to go, also big bonus the missus will be happy

I suppose that’s one way to go about it. Damage the driver and resort to 3,5,7 wood or iron off the tee. Smart thinking

Yeah I've never seen the point of one. How would I go to the driving range on Thursday evening if my clubs were locked away at the club??

The last club I was at I had a locker.
There was also very good practice facilities included in membership so my clubs always stayed there as I practiced there.
So much less hassle and mess than keep putting them in the car then taking them out and putting them somewhere at home.
Even if I was playing an away course I would pick them up and drop them off at the club.
It helped I only lived 5 minutes away.

If your club has its own driving range that isn’t an issue

What about when I want to play somewhere else? Having to detour to the club to pick them up would be annoying. Also I'd still have to remember to take my water bottle out to refill it. And if your grips and jacket are wet do you just leave them in there to go mouldy? More problems than solutions for me.

We have heating pipes under the lockers to keep everything dry

I have a locker and it’s got all my shoes , balls , gloves , tees , waterproofs etc

And its easily a couple grand’s worth of kit that’s lovingly cared for and safe(r) at home
Imagine the weather you guys have just had, you wouldn't see/use your clubs for many weeks. What's happening to them? Is the clubhouse getting turned over tonight?

I would say there is more chance of my house getting turned over.
Plus if my clubs do get nicked from the club I will of mysteriously just purchased a brand new set of clubs, bag trolly etc

Fair, but you've said before you don't practice. I tend to go to the driving range after 8pm on a Thursday and my golf club would be closed so no clubs.
