Golf Things That Gladden The Heart

Watching…and enjoying…Bones caddy for Rick Shiels over 9 holes @ Prestwick.

And talking of switching between caddying for a leftie then a rightie Bones, said that he would sometimes find himself standing at the wrong side of the tee. Aha 😀. So there is a right place to stand and a wrong place. @Doon frae Troon … HNSP we knew…👍😂
Yup
Remember all of those misguided wannabe golfers. ;)

Ollie...for the love of God.......😫

I vaguely remember all this that you like to bring up every now and then, but surely it doesn't advocate everyone moving from one side of the tee box across to the other side when a left-handed player steps up, and then back across to the other side again if a right-hander plays?
Hmmmm….🤔 But since you asked….ok…I won’t

My G430 #3 hybrid turned up today from golfclubs4cash and the condition on it is really very nice. It was described as having "sky marks" which in reality is just one tiny mark that has happened to creep onto the crown. Other than that it's just the usual minor grazes on the face and the underside which would happen with my use anyway.

Donated these clubs to my local LOROS shop today. Hope they can get a few bob for them.

I've kept the MizunoPro blue and white bag with the caddyrack for the irons.

Fun round on the weekend where we got the following;
- one mulligan
- one “Portuguese caddy”, where we could kick the ball out of trouble
- one “play it again”, where we could make someone replay the shot.

My mate topped his Portuguese Caddy, then used his mulligan to chip it back in the bunker 🤣 I used my mulligan to on a 4ft putt which wasn’t the greatest, but I did hole a big putt on 18 after I’d knocked the first one close for an easy tap in.

Absolutely. Especially Augusta and the small matter of the Open being at Portrush. Last time he got so worked up, his head exploded.

Maybe now, he's older and wiser.
Most definitely unfinished business for him at Portrush. The old romantic in me would love to see him strolling up 18 on Sunday of The Open 5 shots ahead with a tap in birdie waiting for him.

I hope you are right.

Played Sunningdale Heath - what a lovely course. Up and down, pine trees - very enjoyable and for a fraction of the neighbour!

Anyone know if Sunningdale closes for winter nowadays (certainly closed to visitors)? The flags were off from what I can see.

Played in a veterans competition, $30 (about 15 quid) includes coffee on arrival with bread nibbles, sausage sizzle after 9 holes, then a homemade BBQ hamburger, 18 holes stableford and a real bargain at a reasonable course (Pinjarra).
