golf society issues - advice reqd

CGL is, as many many such organisers, arranging events for individuls on a basis of them choosing to play - or not.

it doesn't seem to represent itself on the basis of 'we can get you on the course cheaper' or similar; far from it, it appeals to the easy arrangements banner in the same way as many similar groups - picking one that has been raised here before yuou have Golf Day's UK and it's 'Tours'.

Can an individual arrange to play these courses 'cheaper' - yes. Is the margin involved to play an organsied event with structure, prizes, etc - only the individual can decide; if you are SE and charged at £30 ph it's rather obvious that 30 mins phoning around to arrange a tee time is £15.....strangely some people don't put any value on their time (move on) and other's put an even more realistic value on the hassle that such arrangers resolve (as I would/do)

Long way of saying - make your own mind up

surely thats the whole point of a society, to play courses cheaper as a large group discount - basic rules of purchasing/selling

so in essence why pay more for something you can get cheaper, would you buy a car for £xxx amount more than advertised if you had 30 people wanting to buy it as well

whilst that may be the case with private groups (although even that paradigm has fundamentally changed over the last 10 years) I don't see how that's relevant to semi commercial businesses such as CGL, SCCTour etc

as an independant mobile ultrasonic club cleaning business yuou will appreciate the costs associated with marketing, running a web site and communication?

the basic rules of buying/selling (supply/demand) will continue to decide whether people choose to enter such events - history suggests that even if people choose to 'move on' they end up back with a simlar operation for similar costs in due course.
