Golf Room 101

Car Park golfers who contribute next to nothing...

Probably on a cheap membership, spend a negligible amount in the clubhouse, don't spend in the shop, don't play for any teams or get involved in any roll-ups....basically the rest of the club is subsidising their cheap golf.

Isn't it the other way around? The car park golfers are subsidising food, drink etc in their membership subs?

How do you work that out?

The guys who spend £100 - £200 plus per month over the bar and in the kitchen, support the pro by giving them a chance to sell at a competitive price, represent the club in various teams etc etc....versus the guys who pay the bare minimum fees and not much else.

I think it's pretty well established that the average club can't operate on membership subs alone?

So normal members who pay their subscription fee that the club has invoiced them for... they play golf, enjoy themselves getting plenty of fresh air, exercise and go home.

Yeh, check em in the bin. 🤡

Just because you've got nothing else to do but hang around the golf club, doesn't mean others are also time rich.

Wouldn't describe them as normal to be honest.
Personally I'd up the compulsory annual bar levy.

Lol got plenty thanks, but I also contribute a lot more than just my annual membership fee.

I've checked and I can only choose either 5 or 7 day membership at my club, can you let me know which clubs offer the cheap car park membership 😜😜

Referring to The Captain of the golf club as "Mr Captain"

Is that common? It's not something I've come across before but that doesn't mean a great deal.
It is the norm around here.
My club and other local clubs will generally refer to 'Mr Captain', 'Madam Captain', 'Mr President', 'Mr Vice' but never 'Madam Vice'. Particularly when they are standing at the bar ;)

Another one here for dress codes, but with a difference.

Dress codes that are not gender neutral should be sent to Room 101.

That is: The only dress codes I can tolerate are those that are gender neutral. As far as the playing of golf is concerned, our bodies are not that different.

Could you call the lady deputy captain. Mistress Vice then?

Dont the car park golfers contribute in terms of subscription fees ?
