Golf Plans for the weekend?

I'm flying up to Whalsay, which is one of the Shetland Islands, tomorrow to play in a competition called the Wilson Cup. There are 4 man teams from 8 clubs (Stromness, Kirkwall, Thurso, Wick, Reay, Lybster and 2 from Shetland). The top 4 players from each club qualify to represent their club. The teams are split into 2 groups and play 2 ball foursomes against each other. The top 2 teams from each group then meet in the final on Sunday. I'm really lookikng forward to it as it is as much about the social side as the golf. Only really see each other once a year so its a good get together.

Captains Day on Saturday. Off AM so back for the buffet lunch and a laugh in the clubhouse then an afternoon in front of the sport. Off to my mums on Sunday for lunch but might nip to the range early doors if I can get up in time although the lure of a lie in is pretty strong

Hi Beggsy, I'm going as a guest and I think it's going to cost £20 which I think is a bargain. I agree with you totally, £49 to play there is ridiculous imo. I know 2 lads who are members there and both are thinking of moving next year as the number of societies they play host to means that the members often have to rearrange their own games.

Saturday is Captain's day for me also. All tee-times are in the morning, then lunch and prize-giving. Playing with three guys I've never played with and only one of whom, not my partner, that I've met.
Sunday is the Stoke Rochford Open where GB72 and I will be attempting to 'do it for the forum'. A civilized late morning tee-time too (and a delightful halfway house en route).

I have a friendy matchplay today with a m8, then tomorrow and Sunday I have comp's at my own club. Hopefully my game will come back. Then Monday I'm off to Royal Portrush for the North of Ireland championships, Dunluce course 1st, with the Valley course on Tuesday, so my game better return quickly. So a busy 5 days ahead for me.

Along with my game returning, how about the SUMMER returning!

A lads weekend in Wales, playing at Cradoc on Saturday and Alice Springs on Sunday, back to my own course on Monday...all we need is the weather

36 hole Club Championship tomorrow then Sunday 4BBBcomp Sunday morning then a meal at the golf club Sunday night for the prize giving

Monthly Medal on Saturday ( 0.1 back ) then 18 hole stableford comp sunday. ( 0.2 cut :D Hopefully this snap hook ive had all week wont come back
