I was searching for a popular golf club in Google and found the top few sites selling it for almost have price.

They claimed to be warehouse outlet type sites.

Are they generally legit?

I'm new to golf so not sure if there are people selling fake clubs.

Thanks!

As in all things, you get what you pay for.

If it's listed as half price, it's likely knocked off or as you say a fake.

Dont waste your cash.

Sometimes some places are alot cheaper than others when they have offers on but yeah i'd deffintley be careful.

Does the website look genuine or is it just some cheap knocked up website?

Post the websites on here and i'm sure people will be able to tell you if you should stay clear of it or not.

Whats the website?

Like the others have said does it look fake? Do they have a contact phone number and UK postal address? Does the website read correctly or is it full of "bad/poor english"? These are things you must look for when shopping outside of the more well known and respected online retailers.

Getting new clubs? Get fitted and support your local Pro is my advice! No Fakes and it gives you a go-to-guy if you have any problems with it which is a lot easier then trying to deal with an online company.

The choice is yours!

Haha, I live in Bangkok but am from England. In Bangkok the clubs are loads more expensive.

Do a good search for 'r11 driver' in Google.co.uk, those first two sites after the Taylormade site. They look ok to me but are very cheap.

What do you reckon?

Please accept my apologies.
We do get lots of spam threads on here from the far east, so was expecting something similar from yourself. Glad to see you're a real person.
Welcome. :)

the 1st 2 on mine ar direct-golf and golfbuyitonline

dont forget google lists results not only on top sites but also by ip locality to the user. Hence even using google.com it automatically redirects to google.co.uk

Ah my mistake.

disclaimer: I'm not endorsing these sites.

Here are the sites:
wholesalegolf118.com/TaylorMade-R11-Driver-16473.html
golfsale18.com/TaylorMade-R11-Driver-16473.html

and this is a more realistic price:
thegolfshoponline.co.uk/taylormade/drivers/r11/

I'd steer well clear if I were you.

Usually if something on the internet looks too good to be true, it usually is!

On that second website, the hosel where it connects with the shaft looks nothing like the real thing IIRC. I can check mine tonight to be sure, but I'm fairly confident it's not right.

No bricks and mortar address should be all you need not to buy from them.

If its not then read:

Another clue is you can buy Ping clubs by adding them to the basket, try doing that on any genuine website and you will see that you have to phone to order a Ping club

Gotta love their hassle free returns ploicy which includes "we'll tell you the returns address once you've purchased from us" - yeah I bet you will lol

As plenty have already said, if it seems too good to be true.........
