Golf... Not a long walk spoiled!

i liked FOA when i went nice layout and good condition!
was surprised on how close you can get to the deer and they just aint bothered by you amazing!

Glad you enjoyed it Alex, I've got mixed views on it, possibly because its on my doorstep and I've played it so many times and taken course lessons on it it also, not to mention walking it many times for Skycaddie due to constant changes.

As you say, the front & back couldn't be more diverse, I suppose its best that way as it leaves you with great memories but there are a few quirky holes on the front 9 which make you think and are very much risk & reward, the 2nd springs to mind and the 8th (par3) is all water carry to a green that slopes back at you, the 9th is all about the drive and with more small trees planted to the left of the landing area will make it even more narrow especially with all the water to the right, I think the back 9 is more visual but the front still has its moments that will catch a few out.

I can sometimes get some decent deals on the Arden so when I'm back fit I'll arrange a little mini-meet :smirk:

Last time I played FoA we were in the middle of a Foot and Mouth outbreak.
Had to step through disinfectant troughs before and after the round and most of the deer were shepherded well away from the playing areas.
About time I got up there again.........its been a while!

I played at Kingswood on Friday and saw 2 Hobbys on three occasions during our round. Nice.

I got to the 12th on my course on Saturday and I saw there wasn't something quite right about the greenside bunker. Anyway hit my shot left of the green anyway and when I got up there, about 4 sheep all scrammed out of the bunker leaving it in utter ruin. There was no one behind me so I just grabbed the rake and evend it all out again. Splashed a few out the bunker for practice for about 10 mins and went home (after raking it out again of course)
