Golf monthly prizes?

I have entered all the competitions that are advertised by the magazine and so far have not won anything at all.Do you enter all the comps?have you ever won?and whats the best prize you have recieved?A lso if you do win are you contacted by email?

I enter most of them but no luck yet. I do not think anyone on here has won a big competition prize or if they have they have kept it quiet.

Still, I am sure that there are thousands of entries so chances of an actual win are pretty small.

People on here have had some titleist goodies from a magazine competition before as I seem to recall.

I had a day out at Princes on a GM thing and won an associate membership down there which was nice. Scored 34 points on hard conditions, I love links golf!

Im going to give GM a big gee-up here as they are definately the best magazine when it comes to staying in touch with, and serving their readers. The magazine guys are keen to get involved and I can only comment on how decent they all are aswell.

So of us on the forum had a day out at crowborough beacon on GM which was a fantastic day despite harsh conditions.

What I would say is get involved, stay involved, and hopefully one day you will get a nice touch!

Mind you, that's the only win in over 30 years of buying golf magazines

I enter all the comps but not won anything. However I'm with Jon on this and have to say I've got loads of other stuff and opportunities from GM (Cally balls, Titleis balls etc) and know others were involved in things like FJ glove testing. They are brilliant at using forum members for testing gear and whilst a top prize would be nice I'm content with what else we get the chance to try as well.

Never won a comp as such but had loads of freebies which was superb.

Also, I didn't go but I was VERY impressed that GM sorted out Titleist sponsorship for the trip.

Cracking mag, cracking forum and cracking freebies.

I've won competitions for writing stuff. Won some winter mitts in the December advent calendar and a Nike Method Putter and some AD333 balls for best course review. But like others have been impressed with the other freebie / testing opportunities offered by the site and had it not been for lack of internet signal I may have nabbed the testing copy of Tiger Woods as well.

Great mag who really do look after their readers. Stick at it PJ I'm sure you're time will come.

I won a comp to play with David Howell at Bearwood Lakes last year. It was a 5 hole scramble. Stensen, Kjeldsen, Jiminez and Howeller we the team captains. Team GM won - Editor Mike was on the team too. Prizes were a framed photo, cap and Cleveland Launcher 3wood so a great day. Won some balls in smaller comps too. I got a call from Mike Weston informing me of the win.

About time I won again!!

Do you mean testing it? I'm currently long term reviewing the '11 game which I thought was very good of the mag as I'm only a fairly new member.

I'm with the guys who have written about how well the magazine supports the forum and is in touch with the readers. I got a fantatstic day at Ping HQ, full set of Pings (driver to putter + bag) as part of an article in the mag just for being an active participant on here.

I too enter them and was lucky enough to win 4 days hospitality with Ballintines at the Scottish Open last year......it was an unbelievable experiance which included breakfast,luch and afternoon tea in Rossdhu House and copious amounts of ale in the hospitality tent alongside the 18 green....I couldn't get the 1st day so my mates father and his Brother took the tickets and enjoyed all that plus an hours clinic with G-Mac!!

Wonderful...would love to do it again someday!

There have been a lot of winners of some great prizes on here and like anything you have to be in it to win it. I tend to enter loads of golf comps on various sites and publications but haven't had a result yet but I'll make do with the stuff from GM we get every so often. Can't think of any other publication that seems to look after its readers/forum members as well

I entered all the comps with high hopes, only to have them dashed month by month.
Then I discovered the fatal flaw. Why oh why had no-one told me this - you had to know the answer! I could have saved myself so much angst.

now, I am at ease, knowing that at any moment a letter or an email will arrive telling me that I have won a competition I've never heard of, and consequently never entered, and that, if I send a blank cheque, they'll tell me what I've won.
