Has anyone ever had a video lesson and seen their swing from directly above?
Just wondering if anyone would like to see that view. It would definitely show up any swing path issues and any lateral movement

My coach had a camera fitted above the student when he set up his indoor academy but didn't find it overly useful so no longer uses it. We were you-tubing Rory a while back and there was a weird overhead shot of him without a shirt on - let me see if I can find it...

Does it matter what your swing looks like?

I was thinking of this a few weeks back when watching my Rory (the racing car) like swing on the compooterator. I wanted to see what the takeaway looked like from above. Not sure how much use it would be. In the end I decided that what I actually wanted was one of those 360* camera shots that would allow you to watch every angle of a top players swing... Not likely to happen at my local pro's to be fair..

Yes. Was on a computer programme, Quintic I.I.R.C, It showed all three views on the same screen.
The pro was using it to demonstrate that I was hitting out to in too much.

Same. Had a clip taken during my lesson at the weekend - talk about ugly golf........ Put it into my Leadbetter interactive and easy to spot the swing faults....

Does the overhead camera system "fill in" bald spots to avoid embarrassment?

Having looked at the bizarre topless vid that Amanda posted (off Rory, before you lot go looking for something else!), it's not so bizarre to want to see a swing from overhead.

What would help me using that view is checking my hands/forearms at release - the way hands and forearms are moving is much clearer to see from above. Also, I'd agree with the sway vs turn being easier to spot.

The one we came across at the end of a coaching session was even more bizarre and I imagine my coach quickly wiped that off the poota!

John the coach at delapre filmed my swing on his ipad and I found that very useful but that was not above, thinking about getting my daughter to film it for me and seeing if I can get hold of the software that is used for my laptop

No. I think if Amanda keeps her hat on, there shouldn't be a problem.

Videos of your own swing are as embarrassing as hearing you own voice on phone/tape!

Scary how the slight corrections a Pro is trying to make are really to fix major anomolies!

Only did mine once and it demonstrated my release issue majestically! Would show a serious 'old-man's' weight shift currently (brain still intent on protecting ankle).
