Following on from a request recently read, I think it would be good to list all our known golfing jargon and abbreviations that we take for granted but may confuse those new to the game.
I think it has the mileage to be a sticky which then can be referred back to once completed.
I'll start just on some basics but lets extend it to slices, hooks, plugged, Greensomes and more...
SSS: Standard Scratch score. What a scratch player should score around the course.
Scratch: A player with a zero handicap or better.
CSS: Competition Scratch score. An adjustment of SSS depending on performances and conditions in a competition.
Cat: The category a golfer falls into depending on their handicap, Cat 1 is 5.4 or less.
HDID: How Did I Do. Website where club competitions, stats and results are displayed.
Cut & paste the above then add more..
