Golf Insurance

Given that England golf provides £10m liability insurance for club members. For those based in England is there really much benefit to an additional policy, given that the next biggest expense to liability is likely equipment which is often covered under household and travel policies?

Always check your home insurance first. Most insurers will offer most of the cover you get from a specialist insurer at a lower cost as an extra.

Also check what cover your club has. We have block cover for public liability amongst other bits of cover.

Anyone experienced any challenges claiming under home insurance?

My home policy covers possessions away from home but excludes sports equipment when it is being used for its intended purpose. Although I understand what they are trying to do, the wording is sufficiently vague to give them an opportunity to argue a claim.

I am happy with the England golf cover for personal liability and my clubs are covered under my household insurance. I think that the England Golf cover will out a big dent in golf insurer profits as a lot of cover is taken out due to the fear of injuring someone

I had to list my clubs separately under my home insurance, that now covers me for theft from any course and while in my car, although the clubs need to be out of sight ie - in the boot while in the car.
