Golf Insurance - What ? , Who ? , Is it Needed ?.

I'm not insured but starting to seriously consider it

If I got hit by a golf ball by somebody who didn't shout fore I would certainly put in a claim against them.

I recently asked about any experience people had with insure4golf. Got no reply but went with it anyway. Previous I was with Golf Care to take advantage of a free wedge offer and introductory discount. With needing European cover I required an upgrade to standard UK cover and with a renewal I wasn't going to be able to take advantage of new policy deals so this is why I looked around.

Took out insure4sports cover and it gives me everything I think I'll need for piece of mind. Main reason for it is personal liability and property damage. Club insurance won't cover you for personal liability and I was told property damage is only covered in case of things like roof tiles/windows of adjacent properties but if the club could find an individual responsible for this damage they could take action against them for it.

Provides Worldwide cover as standard which and includes the following for £25.50 (15% introductory discount) compared to my Golf Care renewal of £55 which had a similar level of cover. It cost me nearly £40 last year due to having to add european cover as I play a lot in the Republic of Ireland and standard Golf Care insurance didn't cover this area.

£5m public liability with no excess. (same as Golf Care)
£2500 property damage with no excess. (same as Golf care)
£1000 equipment £50 excess and included optional cover for being kept in car (out of sight in boot) or secure shed/compound. (had £2,500 cover last year but this was excess to my needs)
£100 hole in one insurance (£250 with Golf Care)

Golf care also included personal injury insurance and I could have added that for a small fee. Even with all added extras my insurance would still have been cheaper with insure4sports than golf care.
