After bing convinced to take up a membership at my local golf course, I was wondering how much of the remaining year I can look forward to playing? i.e. when winter kicks in say around backed of November, am I going to be able to play much golf?

J

Depends on the weather and the course. How does it stand up to rain, frost etc. how much snow are we going to have dumped on us this winter.

I'm fairly lucky in that unless there's snow on the ground the course will usually be open as it drains well, so I'll be out every weekend weather permitting.

As above, depends on the course. I could play 364 days a year if I wanted to as our course never closes and barely uses temp tees and greens...Obviously, I won't be because playing golf in the cold rain and wind is less fun than poking yourself in the eye with a blunt fork :)

Winter golf is great, no fair weather golfers clogging the course up.

Is the correct answer.......

Unless there's snow or the ground is frozen I'll play. Frozen fairways and greens is a nonsense - you may as well play crazy golf.

Only played last winter after coming back to golf and loved it.

Get the warm weather gear on and being out on a fresh morning is really enjoyable.

Golf doesn't matter so much but nice to get out and have a laugh as much as anything.

Agree with this. Even though I've next to no natural insulation, I don't mind playing in the cold, but playing on frozen greens isn't funny. Well it's funny, but not golf

or enjoy the 219 yard 5 irons.

(that should read 259 yard 5 irons for all the other players on here) :)

If there is a heavy frost try to go out after a few other groups. They create channels on the greens that can make your putts stay on track!
