golf in wedding ring

Surely the wife is more of a hindrance to your golf than the ring?

I take mine off to play golf. Not 100% sure it would be a problem but I suspect it might be. Trouble is I play so much golf and often don't remember to put it back on. Someone asked me the other night why I stopped wearing it.... in front of Mrs FD too!

I don't wear one at all, my fingers are too big, but when I did wear one which was made for me it still cut into me, I'm not even sure where it is now 🤔

I always take mine off. Once read a story about ex Argentine goalkeeper Nery Pumpido who got his wedding ring caught on a hook on a goal post and it nearly ripped his finger off. Hence i've always removed mine when playing any sport!

I actually saw it happen to a mate

Depends on the material - mine is 21ct, which means as soft as hell, and as a result of gripping golf clubs is distinctly oval.

At least not as bad as when (with the mrs in tow) we went into the jewellers and I asked the lady there if she could de-ovalise it. She went loopy! Seriously, she gave me massive verbal grief as I played a lot of cricket those days and it was more triangular from holding the bat
. I still remember her cutting words "is this how much your marriage mens to you ? "

She said she couldn't de-ovalise it as it would likely fracture the ring and unless I wanted it meted down and reformed I ought to take up a other sport !

Maybe her husband had run off with a cricketer and she was permanently scarred!

I would only not wear one when actual risk of injury would occur, friend of my slid down a ladder with hands and feet either side and caught it on a rung end and skinned his finger!

Never wear mine. It's a palladium ring so not at risk of deforming but it's pretty thick. I tend to leave it at home but if I forget about it I put it onto my car key ring. I've started to use a Carabineer clip on my bag to carry my keys after a few scare where I couldn't find my keys. Could do the same with your ring.

I can't play with mine on. It really screws my grip up. I just take it off and put my watch strap through it. I put it back on when I finish though because I can't have too many women throwing themselves at me in a clubhouse :D

Adding a few grams of gold to the grip end will change the swing weight of your clubs, so you will need to get them refitted. You probably need to extend the shafts by 0.1 inches to compensate.

I hope you don't wear a watch too?

Just a quick question. Recently married and have a dilemma as to whether to leave the wedding ring on or take it off for golf?

Give up golf, stay at home with your new wife and procreate. That's what newlyweds do

At first it felt awful gripping a club with my wedding ring on ,now I don't even notice t's there I forget all about it plus if im taking it off and on i risk losing it and the wife won't like that 😂
