Golf in (South) Wales

Off to play Royal Porthcawl soon (played it before - absolutely loved it!!) and considering where else in the area to play when there. Have played Pyle & Kenfig before so was l cosnidering Machynys or Southerndown. Both look pretty good with reaosnable green fees.

Anyone any experience of either of these and what did they think?

Yes played at both.

Machynys is worth a trip but like Porthcawl can play very different depending on the weather.

Southerndown is ok but not brilliant IMO and has lots of sheep wandering around.

Some nice courses around the Gower as well. Langland Bay and Pennard are both really nice courses.
