Hi guys,I am not long back from my second ever lesson with my new pro Michael Rae at Alyth.Surely the best money yet spent on my golf! After telling me to relax more, stand nearer to the ball, and start my downswing with my legs more(amongst other things)my ball striking and distance have both got much better and I was cracking my 9 iron 145 yards with some shots!(unheard of before today).Unfortunately I got a bit over excited after taking some nice divots(finally!) and hitting the ball further than ever before that I manged to pull a muscle in my chest mid-swing and now won't be able to play or practice more for a good week, aaarrgh! I am 50% happy and 50% gutted,I really need to take my improved ball striking and swing to the course, woe is me!

Its amazing how a few simple things in a lesson have us hitting better and longer, trouble I have is its gone within a week. Last lesson I was hitting 7 iron to 170 and 5 iron to 190 and all straight or slight draw!!

Now I just fat them 30 yards ;)

Bad luck with the muscle, rest it and dont swing until 100% or will just end up taking even longer.

Cheers Gibbo I really think these changes will stick with me but I hate not having the chance to practice. To last a week without hitting a ball will be a nightmare,I am on holiday too alas, and I was hoping to get as many rounds in as possible, noooo! I was planning to go to Bristol this week for some golf action and a wee break, maybe just a break will do me some good.

I was off for a fortnight a few weeks back - course closed due to the cack weather :(

God certainly moves in mysterious ways, especially for golfers :D
