Golf Club or Pay and Play

Join a club. In no particular order within 15 mins you have:- Thorndon park, abridge, stapleford abbots, maylands, warley park, Bentley, crondon park, stock Brook manor, chelmsford, Brentwood, south essex, the burstead, romford.

Join a club that has good practice facilities like a range, chipping green and putting green etc, it will make the membership a little more versatile.

Ive just joined a club that has free range balls, my son and I had 50 balls each yesterday and 100 each today - additional costs like that soon add up. It's the main reason I chose the club I did.

Which club is that, fella?

Some clubs will let you pay your fees monthly which can help to spread the cost.

I'm an associate member of one club and full member at another place, combined works out at £41 per month - and that's if you don't include the fact I've been allowed to play since October when I paid my deposit for free!

i'm on a under 40's deal, and I would say look at the detail of the packages available at the perspective clubs - one of my new PP hadn't even looked at the packages, just turned and payed full whack which is 50% more then I pay.....

Burstead looks like it could be a good starting option. There website says about a pay as you play membership which would enable me to be part of the golf club set up initially.

I never thought about this as an option so will pop up to the course over the next couple of weeks
