its my first post so hi one and all.i live in glasgow and have a week off at the end of the month and fancy a golf break somewhere but cant make my mind up where.i was thinking st.andrews with a 3 day ticket but you have to use a mat off the fairway so not too sure.i also would like somewhere with a few pubs in it,we might get rained off at this time off the year.well guys, any ideas.

Welcome to the forum,

Think you will find that most courses are still on either mats, winter tees and a few winter greens.

I went to Dumfrieshire last September on a 4 day golf break (Thornhill, Colvend, Brighouse Bay and Kircudbright). Nice courses in good condition and it was pretty good value. Southerness, Powfoot and Portpatrick are also great courses but i've still to play them. Stick to links golf and you will not go far wrong at this time assumming the wind is not too bad.

Ray

PS Where do you play in Glasgow?

Hi rugitel, welcome to the forum.

Are you planning coming south into England or staying in Scotland?
There are many courses in the North of England, many will be playing regularly. Best advice is to find a few then give them a ring for details.

No spam but there are details of the vast majority of golf clubs in Yorkshire HERE

Enjoy your break! :)
