Sorry, I missed this last night.
Is it the direction that's the problem or the distance control ?

Personally I don't think you have time to learn a new technique and practice it in time.

I would suggest a couple of mental techniques to get you through today and then find time to practice.

Firstly just give up on your desperation to hole putts you cant force the ball in the hole either it drops or it doesn't, try smiling before during and after all your putts and just relax.

On the practice green putt a few balls with your eyes closed and just enjoy the smooth feeling as you stroke the ball, then putt a few balls just looking at the hole. (with both of these line up and address ball as normal)

Don't putt to a hole to get the pace of putts, stand in the middle of the practice green and putt three balls to each fringe (try to get the ball a foot shorter/longer each putt)

Then putt 10 in a row from three foot pick up your ball and walk off happy and confident into your round.

Cjeers for the advice mate for some reason i always read te line and think... I can hole this.

Bob - definitely the distance... I regularly roll past by an inch or even over the hole but for some reason if i play the put conservatively im no where near the hole so i give it that little bit more and even though it doesnt look fast the greens are lightening at the moment so i end up rolling 8 ft away.

Distance control is normally the problem.
The hips move, the shoulders turn and you give it a wrap with the hands at the bottom.
Try keeping the wrists firm and let the length of the backswing vary the distance the ball goes.
And keep a good TEMPO

This guy has got the hang of it as he's using one of the new prototype invisible V-Easys

Notice how the angles between his wrists and hands don't change

Ditch the Hotblade and get an Odyssey Fang putter and then you will putt with confidence !;)

I love the feel of the hotblade and as im 6ft6 i have had it custom for me.

Bob cheers for the videos - it really shows how much i use my wrists and arms.
