How many forum members read the GM magazine?

A serious question guys. A quick Google will turn up this site. I know a few people would find it, like it, join and participate.

I used to make the monthly trip to the shop to buy my copy of the magazine. No need anymore, my wife bought me a subscription for the year at Christmas. I'll now get it delivered. Result! :D

Long time reader of the mag. I'm another who gets it as a gift subscription at christmas each year.

Sometimes read Golf World, but don't rate the others unless I'm on holiday, then I may pick up Golf International at the airport.

As for Golf Punk or whatever it's called .... not my cup of tea I'm affraid.

It has been dropping on my doormat for several years now, paid by direct debit. Great value and if I could master all the monthly tips ...........

Yip. Got my subscription for my birthday. Have to confess I used to read other mags such as Today's Golfer, Bunkered etc.

Think I came across the forum last year when I googled a golf query I had and the first listed was a link to a post someone had made on the forum. Started reading other posts, realised the guys on here were sensible, helpful and funny and haven't looked back.

being new to the sport i have so far purchased the latest two , jan and feb issues a great read with superb instruction just got the feb issue of golf world great article on john daly.......how many golf clubs would accept a member with his colourful history? i'm considering subscribing

I get it "as and when" as with other golf mags. Since coming on here, I've been buying it more often.....I feel I ought to support it as much as possible.

I've bought other mags such as Todays Golfer, just seemed to prefer Golf Monthly for it's instruction section, letters page and the articles written by the GM team.
I must admit to missing out some articles, such as course reviews as they are not in my area 90% of the time.
I remember buying a copy in the airport as we prepared for our last holiday. I read it completely from cover to cover and decided that this was the magazine I preferred. Been buying it since.
Oh yes, particularly liked the R&A rule book included in this months issue. :)

I have enjoyed this months issue - I'm itching to try the drill on page 22 (front 9) "Steep learning curve" and have cut out the ad' on page 103 to practice my voodoo black magic on a certain golf equipment retailer!!!!

....also....how good is Krista Puisite's top of backswing pose on page 68.....could be a page 3 girl with that to oggle over!!!

Dave

i subscribe as-well, by far the best golf mag i have read.

now and again i will buy another if the cover grabs my attention.

golf punk is the worst read, it is supposed to be for the young hip type golfer(i think) I'm 34 would not say hip but no fuddy duddy but still thought it was pretty poor.

this thread must be a good read for the gm staff.

I was all set to go and see the ryder cup that year (being local to me), hadn't even considered that the golf mags would have been running stories pre match (but they must have been)....oh dear.

Dave

Honestly? I used to buy them all and had a head full of swing junk, but now I think all golf magazines are a complete waste of money. They're full of advertising and rehashed tips that don't really work very well.

There's no substitute for a pro.

Every month for me, only reason I dont subscribe is that im in the process of moving house.
Also read Todays Golfer and Golf World, I buy these on a Friday as a treat on my boring commute to work.
