Gleneagles

For all you guys who have played before, any tips about enjoying the whole experience? Anything to look out for in the clubhouse, is there a better of two bars etc? I'm not necessarily looking for golfing tips, it's the other stuff.
its expensive no matter which bar TBH.

Oh and expect it to take a long time playing the Kings, queens though its the shorter still has a fair few long holes, but would say less of a slog than the kings which we played off the very back tee's

I'm mentally prepared for ouch at the bar, you just have to suck that up. It is a special occasion though so I will not let that impact.

We will look at each hole when we get there. We may go off whites, we may go off yellows. We will not be rigid on that. If we are held up by those in front we will just have to go in to a zen like state. When going to courses such as this I half expect the round to be slow, anything else is a bouns. If you expect the worse then if it happens you are ready for it. It is when you hope to fly round and get held up it hurts more to me.

The Kings is the best course but is currently closed for maintenance at the moment and doesn't open to non members till the end of the month so will take several weeks to get back to its best so would avoid it till the end of April. Both the queens and PGA have already had the winter maintenance work done so they are both in good condition at the moment. If you haven't played any of the courses yet then my first choice would be to play the PGA and tick it off. First medal of the season is this Sunday on the PGA looking forward to it

What tees would you recommend for visitors? Playing the PGA on Sunday. I have looked at scorecard and the White Tees seem to be the best option on paper, i.e looking at the yardages but depends if many of the holes will be uphill etc.

White tees would be my choice but it leaves a lot longer shots in for your second
