Gleneagles Queens Course...

We're off to play the Queens course on Friday. Looks like the weather will add an extra wee challenge.

Never been there before, so does anyone have any knowledge/tips that would enable us to enjoy the experience even more?

Is food affordable in the clubhouse, or is it the same 5***** hotel prices?

Food is still expensive but not quite as expensive as the hotel.

I would eat out next time in either Auchterarder or locally elsewhere, it was certainly not worth the money.

Not played the Queens so sorry cant help you out golf wise, sure someone will be along shortly.

It's a lovely course. Front 9 is harder than the back 9 but it's not difficult overall and very enjoyable to play.

The food in the clubhouse is pretty average and very expensive. I think a burger and chips was about £15.

I've nearly played it....... a group of us from work booked a round a couple of years back, showed up very early on a rainy Sunday morning in October, consumed the £8 bacon rolls only to be told that the course was being closed due to bad weather.

I think that might have been code for "NO Scumbags , now bugger off"

We went to Muckhart instead and had a terrific day despite the rain and were made to feel more than welcome despite showing up on a Sunday morning with no pre booking.

Really nice course, shortest of the three, but still tricky.
Last time I played it greens were like velvet.
Couple of holes round the little loch on the back 9 are great. 18th tee shot is a belter too!
You will love it, no doubt!

Lucky enough to go to Gleneagles every year, and the Queens course is without a doubt my favourite!

Very pretty course, not too long, a couple of great holes including blind shots into greens, and 2 very good par 3's back to back, the 2nd of them is very difficult!

As already mentioned, the tee shot on the 18th is a belter!

You can stay as long as you wish at the halfway house, you call in your order on the 9th tee, and you can just rejoin when a gap appears! Most people do stop, so you can take your time! I can also recommend the bacon rolls!

Enjoy, it's a magical place, you will love every minute, and the course will be immaculate.
