Glastonbury 2015

Think Glasto has just changed over the years and evolved - probably had to, who's to know.

Liked the highlights of Florence and Lionel Richie's sets and Motorhead were on usual good form. Loads of other smaller acts would have appealed though.

Always wish I'd been there in 92' for The Leveller's seminal moment however. Wonder if they've ever cropped up on a golf forum before...

Hopefully not, the dog on a string fiddly diddly haven't had a bath for a month rubbish. But having said that, from looking at what most golfers seem to like it in other threads it makes The Levellers seem positively modern. There's only one way of life indeed, and you're welcome to it ;)

lmao :d

Lionel Richie???????

Kanye West???

Dolly parton????

Without wanting to sound like an elitist.

What a crock of absolute commercial poop. Glasto should be about crustys in a field all off there heads on shrooms and weed.

The guff they serve up these days is almost an antithesis of what it was supposed to all be about back in the day.

I say again

Lionel Richie!!!!!!!????????

What!!!!!??????

Agree, i last went in 95 and i didn't like it then, far too big even 20 years ago. Now it seams every one and their dog and kids go.

The years that were most enjoyable for me were 87, 88,89, 90 was the best as Happy Mondays Headlined.

Bizarre how the BBC sanctioned Clarkson for alleged use of a mumbled certain derogatory word, yet had no such qualms about the repeated use by Kanye.

Bit different...clarkson was under contract to the BBC. Kanye isn't. You have to fully expect a rapper to be blurting out various swear words.

I did watch some of the Kanye set on catchup, as liked his very first album, and still play it, but the rest of Glastonbury was a bit whack this year. It could have been completely different if Dave Grohl hadn't broken his leg, as the Foos set would have lit the place up.

They probably realised that if they did what ITV did at The Brits and bleep out the swearing it would sound silly. And they would look foolish. You kind of expect Kanye to swear and it was well past the watershed. And he wasn't using it as a form of abuse, where as you could argue Clarkson was.

Although it is an interesting point about language/swearing as in the last Top Gear at 8pm on a Sunday they used a couple,of words that would probably get me a telling off, if not an infraction on here. And in The Times newspaper they use words that would definitely get an infraction and a ban on here. Plus Obama used the n word in a podcast the other week. Must admit I was a little shocked (although not offended) as apparently it was in the news, but I didn't know he used it before I listened. Potty mouth.
