Here I go again,

Played this morning, we were 3rd group out. Two 3 balls in front of us, we were a 4ball. Very foggy couldnt see your finger in front of you. Anyway, we teed off, going alog nicely then all of a sudden we stopped dead, now they wearn't quick as normal but we thought they were playing at a desent speed. Nopw we got to the 10th, Amen. Every shot and I mean every shot we had to wait. The other 3 ball were 2 holes ahead. I spoke to the guys on the 11th and the 14th. They didnt say much on the 11th but the answer I got on the 14th was great. It turned out the 3rd guy was playing well with a score going, 20pts front 9. Final straw was the wait we had on the 18th fairway, I waited that long I forgot what I was meant to be doing. So to hell with it, I sliced one towards them (Opps did I really hit one that far right) The funny thing about it was that a guy was comming out of the locker room and my ball went through the open door while he was trying to get out. When I arrived at where my ball was one of the guys had lifeted it (OoB). He smiled at me with my ball in hand, opps red rag to bull. "Bit off line there Ian" opps another red rag. I lit on him and his 3 ball. That was the fastest I ever seen them move.
OK, it took them 4 hours, in a 3ball, holding up a 4ball which had a 3ball behind them who couldn't keep up with us. The 3ball had lost 2 holes. Was I right to have a go? I know and could understand 4 hours, but for a 3ball with an empty course in front. It took them the same time as if they were in a 4ball, no difference.
What you guys think?

I'll tell you the punch line at a later date!

I think there's no excuse for hitting a ball towards people.

You should have been let through though.
Out of interest, what was their reason for not letting you through?

I played in the medal this morning. In typical fashion I hit a snap hook down the second for my 3rd shot and made the schoolboy error of getting hacked off and not keeping an eye on where it finished so hit a provisional. The group behind were coming up so out of courtesy I waved them through. Sods law, the second I do so one of my partners finds the ball. Cue a lot of hanging around waiting for them to hit to the green, chip and putt.

As it happens they moved pretty quick all round although my impersonation of a novice golfer probably helped matters. In the end we moved well all round and I got my 0.1 back. Was it me or was it really cold about 8.00 this morning?

Did you have the bottle to tell the guy you tried to hit him? Nah, didnt think so ya coward .... all talk and no trousers.

I agree they hould have let you through but trying to hit them is bang out of order.

It was a bloody good shot. Have you ever hit a 3 wood into ur club house locker room door. Lord knows how I missed them, maybe God was on their side. Oppps, didn't I say, the guy's I had a go at was my dear Father, a Vicar and a Doctor.
I didnt need to tell him, I think they knew. LoL

I reckon 4 hours is pretty good going. They should have let you through though if you were close enough. Next time get your name on the board a bit quicker and you can tee of first...you'll be back home in time to have your cereal if you run.

I know its no fun playing slow but its not a sprint! surely if the weather is good there is no better place to be on a saturday morning than on the course :D

I'm amazed you were able to play if it was that foggy.
Anyhow, not good to aim in their direction even if they should have let you through. Were they hitting rough often or was one of them having a 'mare? They should have let you through though.

To be honest guys it was a bloody bad 2nd shot I played just so happens it went towards them. I didnt really try to hit them. I tryed to hit the green, 225yrds out with 3 wood. They were 30 yrds right of green. Maybe if I had tryed to hit them I might of hit the green.
As for putting my name down quicker, unfortunately they play in front of us every Saturday, time sheet which never changes.

Barred for what? Hitting a bad shot! goodness surley not, we wouldnt have any golfers playing if that was the case.
Roll on March, and plenty of range golf over the dark months.

slow play is bad and can make you do things you don`t normally do

it must have been a nice 3 wood

your back must be getting better or is that why you were 30 yards off to the right!!!!

Yeah back is holding up nicely. A few shots yesterday it felt bad but on the whole I was pleased enough with the way I hit the ball (apart from the 3 wood to the last).

Handicap 2.5 same as it was this time last year noting lost nothing gained. On a whole not a good year but ahwell.

Pleant of shot's at the range over the winter and come out blazing next season, (fingers crossed)

Slow players in front CC07..............hmmmm, I presume they were high handicappers who shouldn't have even been on the course, especially in your presence!!!! :D ;)

lmao - couldn't agree more Basher...but don't get me started on that particular subject - I can't be responsible for any more locked threads :)

Been there done it CC07. I fished for years prior to finding this brilliant game.
Selling much of my fishing tackle financed the purchase of my golf gear!

Only pulling your leg on my previous post by the way mate! ;)
