Getting the correct club setup

Ive just got rid of my 3 and 5 woods and bought a 17 degree 4 wood to carry 4 wedges. 45 p/w 50 g/w 55 s/w and a 60 l/w. Although your gaps between 5w and hybrid at 17 degrees are close what sort of shaft length are they as it could still give you a good 15 yds difference
 
a 23/22 degree hybrid is a must. they are a lot easier to hit from the semi rough than a 4 iron. also useful on those longer par 3's.


gap wedge could be the other choice!


in saying that, a 5 wood is plenty long to fall back on off the tee. ive only recently put a 3 wood back in the bag. they can be a real curse for high handicaps. they are long (distance wise) therefore you can get into trouble very easily. the temptation is always there if you duff your tee shot to reach for the 3 wood to recover and 9/10 in ends in tears.
