Thanks for a sensible bit of advice, as you mention came asking for advice not to be cross examined
My point is how long have you been a member at your current club, how long have you had your h/cap and why ask about playing comps. at a new club when you don't play them at your present one.At my club a new member that brings his h/cap from a previous club will expect the h/cap sec to phone and speak to his old h/cap sec to find out if he was a regular player in comps and if the h/cap was accurate,i had it done a couple of months ago when i moved,so why don't you just play comps at your present club before moving?
i don't wish to be negative but your original post makes no sense to me,your asking about moving clubs to play in comps but don't play them at your present one just seemed a strange request for advice.Sorry but you may have a point but it isn't what i was asking
Firstly i do not have to justify my reasons of not playing official comps or how long i have been a member
My question was one of advice not to be questioned to why i had not taken part
So back off with the negative comments about me who you do not know and contribute with something positive for a change or do you just enjoy being mister negative all the time

Well at the risk of also being seen as 'negative', how about asking at your new club? Every club has different procedures for competitions, there's no point whatsoever asking on here how it will work, unless there happens to be a member of that club on this board. So back to the original question i am looking for tips / advice about playing in competitions i.e common formats, how are they drawn, what to expect etc etc
Cheers Wolfie
