Hi,

Have been having a bit of a break from playing, only played once since Christmas and about half a dozen times between September and Christmas. "Her indoors is expecting with the baby due in May so had lots of changes to the house that needed to be done! anyway, has anyone had the same sort of time off playing and if so did you start practicing again at the range for a period of time before hitting the course again? I have my first proper round planned for the end of the month and was wondering how you would attack getting back into the swing of things.

Had 3 months off last year due to injury(Tennis Elbow) and to be honest it is not easy to get back into it. Start by hitting some balls to get the swing going again and when you feel ready play a round with no expectations and take it from there.

I had eight years off due to kids work, marathons and triathlons, injury forced me to stop the running and I stumbled across the clubs in the shed and went down the range to bash a few balls with the kids

Remembered how much fun it was and have played a few rounds since, now looking for a new club to join, get yourself down the range shouldn't take much to gt you back into the swing of things

its pretty much a personal thing and also depends on expectation a couple of baskets on the range and a freindly 9 holes would be enough for me. Think you may have to get used to fits and starts with a baby due, hope all goes well and enjoy.

I'm just back into golf. After a long lay off from injury. Luckily I have a park across the road. So I take short irons there, to get the swing going again. I can pop over most days for half an hour here and there. Just joined a club. But not played a full round yet. Up to about 12 holes now. But I am taking it easy so as not to aggravate the injury's. Soon as the weather gets better, will do the full 18. Not over bothered about the playing bit to much. As I'm still grooving the new swing, I hope.
