Getting a Handicap

Hi everyone,
Im new to this site.

I am looking to get a handicap and dont know where to start,
i dont belong to any club and play the municipals in and around Glasgow.

My last three rounds have been 89, 87, 80.

I will be looking to join a club next year so any pointers will be helpful.

Im always looking for a game and want to get involved more and play with new people, just love Golf any time any where really.

I got my first handicap about a week ago (21) i just joined a local course played a few rounds with some people and got them to mark and sign my card. i dont know about doing it without being a member but it cant hurt to ask at your local course

Best way is join up to the club, then you can take part in the weekly comps, just get your 3 cards signed (even if it's stableford you just play strokeplay) - then they will give you your handicap and off you go rfom there.....
