Went off to Golf Live today as its only 20 minutes from home. There was a one hole challenge and first up was Gary Player, it was 145 yards to the pin and his first shot, a gentle draw with a 9 iron finished just on the green. He hit a few more shots and told a few stories, got one or two out of the crowd to fault fix their swings and then started to show his impression of various amateur swing that he sees in pro ams.

He then did his take of the Zorro amateur - a nice practice swing, then a rotary whirl of the the club at the end - followed by the ball bouncing twice and then in for A HOLE IN ONE!!!

A magical moment, he said that it was his 29th but that one of them had been lucky!

Going tomorrow, hopefully should be a good day

Go to the GM section at the end of the driving range. I met Neil Tappin and had a really good lesson with Paul Foston one of GM's top 25 coaches and a short game expert - worth every penny as it was free!

Joe Miller the World long drive champ is well worth a look at too and there is plenty to see and do. The food was expensive and pretty crap - a bacon bap at £6 is a bit ott.

Enjoy your day

Its a format that I just don't get. Glad you enjoyed it and maybe if I experienced it I'd change my tune, but jesus Chris Evans as an attraction?????

Its just a pleasant day being entertained by various golfers and celebs, plenty of golfy gear to try and buy nothing too serious and lots of freebie tickets to be had. Chris Evans - saw him hit one shot qnd didn't bother any more with him! Local golfer Benn Barham was part of it and we sat with his dad quite a bit and reminisced over our footie days and other stuff

Worth £20 plus £10 for parking - absolutely not, but free tickets and share £10 for parking - yes, any day and picked up a bit of early summer sun tan!

Would def go back next year, good day out, great for kids too.

Just to back up what chris said the lesson with GM was fantastic and will post my vid up when I get it. Joe miller wow!! 280 yds with a putter! Gary player legend and a gentleman even signed my cap for me. He's 76 you know!

So glad you enjoyed it and the weather held which was good!

Yeah bit chilly when the wind got up but brilliant day, may even take my daughter next year. Now to take my lesson to the course! Did you try the little psp club? Think I hit that the best out of all of them! Got so tempted with the razr fit driver after booming four on the trot, gave it back to the fitter before I could part with money I don't have!

Did anyone see the interview with Gary Player this afternoon after the matchplay finished? I know he has done a lot for golf but he certainly has a big opinion of himself. He finished by saying he had achieved more than anyone else in the history of the game because he has both regular and senior grand slams.

Achieved more than Jack and Tiger? I don't think so Mr Player.

I was there chatting with Neil Tappin and Paul Foston had a free 20 mins and we just did some short game stuff but he was really good and local to me

He is a bit OTT but has a sense of humour and is inclined to the odd outrageous statment

I went today also. We did the main theatre with Pablo and Jeremy which was fun, saw pablo last year and he was a character, then we went and watched Gary Player on the 18th green, he has very tidy short game and gave some tips that I will use. Two hole challenge was ok, was three last year.. Did a bit of wandering around and saw Robert Rock, he was there with some friends it seemed, just walking around, I should have said hello! We then sat at the main theatre 18th green and watched montys master class followed again by trickshots and then the all star play off with tHe 18 hole world record attempt, watching Pablo's 160 approach shot which almost hit Gary player bang on the head was a laugh.

Great day, however I didn't really think much of the stands this year, a lot of holiday booths giving you bags full of tat, last year had good freebies, tees balls etc.

Still nice to go though.
