I used my new Garmin Approach GPS watch today for the first time.
I know others have reviewed it on here & there is not much I can add to their reviews other than to say what an utterly awesome bit of kit it is.

After a couple of hours measuring my yardages with my clubs I used it on the course, it's brilliant.
It takes all the guess work out of club selection & I hit more greens today than I ever have.

It will definitely save me shots during my round & is so simple & easy to use.
If you are thinking of getting one, don't hesitate.

Another one here.

Took mine out today. Can't believe just how easy and simple to use these are.
Only bought mine this morning, rocked up at the club with it still in the box. Unpackaged it, slapped it on my wrist and I was off. It really is as simple as that.

My only gripe is I have to wear it on the wrong wrist as my glove wont fit fully otherwise.

Subscription free, pre-loaded with 5000 courses and you can download other courses from a website for free!

Prices have dropped too, £130 I think now, going to bend the Wifes ear about one, until she either permits purchase of one or gives me a good hiding!

I dropped loads on hints about this watch in the lead up to xmas. My wife got me some socks, pants, belt and lots of chocolate... but not this watch :(

Do you normally wear a watch when playing?

I don't wear a watch most of the time, so would find it a bit weird to have open during playing.

I thought that would be the case for me too, but it is very light and i didn't notice that I was wearing it when I was hitting.

The watch is very light, waterproof and feels nice and robust. I'm not a watch wearer while playing golf (But thats mainly because all my watches are oversized and heavy). It was odd to start with but you soon forget about it.

One thing is to be said though, you really do hit a shorter ball in winter. I nailed a good few drives today and not one was longer that 240 yards.
