gap wedge, end of an era ??

Interestingly at DG today I was suggested to buy a lobber, saying that most tour pros use one.

My gap is my main chipping club, my 56 used when there is grass under the ball. I use my 8 a lot when chipping too, third after the highest loft wedges.

TBH i am confident enough in my putting to deal with a few extra feet a couple of times a round when I have to use a 56 or a 52 (lie dependant) so I can carry a gap wedge or a 3 iron/hybrid or 3 wood.

I really have nothing I feel I could drop to take me to 4 wedges.

I only purchased a gap wedge 3/4 months ago and is the most consistent club i have in that anything from 50 yards to 90 yards i nearly always hit the green with it where my SW (upto 50 yards) and PW (100-110 yards) a bit inconsistent.I believe everyman for himself, it does not matter how old the club, what brand or what state the club is in , the whole point is to get that little white thing into a hole in the ground with whatever is legal.
