Game golf system finally available in uk!

So the Game Golf is potentially more accurate for finding club distances than the doppler based systems that calculate distance. I think I want one, wish I had never seen this thread.

Optishot, Yupi, Swingtip and then Game Golf?? Where will it end?!

I have no idea about the thing is this thread, first I ever herd of it but I am pretty sure it works off GPS and as such you would have to walk to every ball and play another shot before it gave you your distance. It seems to me that it is a mapping device.... essentially crap. If you want to stand and bust balls in one spot this seems not to be the device....

I agree this is just a glorified mapping tool, I suppose I could get the same results with a pen and paper and my existing golf GPS.

Is the SC100 available in the UK or do you have to import it? Saw the interest on this thread but a quick google search doesn't seem to throw up any UK results.

I've only found it on eBay so it's coming from the States. It is listed at $269.00 however I made an offer of $225 and got it.

It could well be crap however I love a gadget so will report back with findings....

Is the distance measuring actually useful if your recording every shot you hit on course without taking into account wind speed and direction?

based on the above is it even then?

I think its largely irrelevant when it comes to the wind etc. the idea is that you are able to assess your stats in a much more visual way without having to manually enter stuff. In their practice rounds, GMAC and Westwood have been using them and you can see exactly where they hit it etc.

My view is that it shouldnt be used to measure your distances.

on another note, just been reading about the SC100 online! WOW!!! i want one! withing 1% accurate of a flightscore for £200!!! just a shame it only measure carry up to 302yds! 3 woods only for me then :D:whistle:

That's why I questioned if it was calculating the distance, why does it stop at 302yds if it's only calculating. I have an Atlas GST which is similar to the sc100 and I'm pretty sure it's not limited to 302yds. I have no way to prove that as a) All the instructions are in Japanese and b) I don't hit it far enough :(

I'll be looking out for road2ruin's review as I am really keen on this! So keen that I nearly popped in to my local apple store and bought it!

Ha, oddly enough the guy in the Apple store today said that they'd had them in for about 3 weeks and not shifted any however I was the 3rd person in today to buy one....appears that a few off the forum have been tempted as well?!
