if ive worn mine i take it home after and let it dry and the bag before putting it back in. but still stuck in the bag, like you say for months.

might contact GG and see what they say.

I suspect that you are in the minority in taking it out and drying it properly before (carefully) putting it back in the bag....certainly I was referencing more the unwashed, often damp, season long life in a bag pocket scenario!

GG's own advice (well it's on my label anyway) is very clear that very dry is important, and any dirt is going to compromise the breathability.

Me coat was drip drying on the back of a chair when he walked by ( having a yearly update with rest of staff re first aid and defib training) when he went past the five of us, he asked how the course was. Flippin flooded. I then asked his advise re the coat. He's a very nice man. Pointed me in the right direction.

Its like the news, stuff only makes it to the news if its rare. But hearing about it makes it seem like its happening all the time.

I have too been put off GG from the feedback recently, I would currently be looking at the #2 and #3 brands if I was in the market at the moment.

I've bought Proquip or FJ for many years (usually from Clubhousegolf who usually have some great deals) and never had an issue with any of these brands but have also never heard of customers then having to jump through hoops as GG ones seem to, to prove the item was faulty.

Having been burnt on the GG cost/ warrnty, I've since struggled to find a good cost effective waterproof that I like, until now. Picked up a set of Oscar Jacobson in the sale earlier in the year. Kept me very dry so far, and have a 5 year warranty, will see how they continue.

There are 2 parts to this really (and it's a situation that's been mirrored many times in the retail market, and is getting worse as a result of social media and the impact of isolated incidents).
1. As already pointed out you only see the negatives
2. GG has set its stall by its guarantee and absolute commitment to total waterproofing ie it's set itself up as a target.

Just a quick update. got a phone call today to say that the sellers have been sent a bottle of Imprenex wash in 150ml bottle for me to wash the GG coat in to reproof it.

No probs there can tash is a dab hand at using the washer. however.

I don't speak bloody sweedish, Norwegian, Danish or piggin Finish for that matter.
How the bloody hell can I stick to the manufacturers warranty when I don't know what the hell they are saying. Had a look on line and guess what, it's all in Sweedish, Norwegianish, Danish and piggin Finishish.

do I put the lot in or what? Someone at GG is having a right giggle at tash tonight, bloody idiots.

If Anyone knows raw fish language on how to wash a coat in Imprenex, please let me know and if it goes tits up al blame Man in black or Beezerk when I take it back to GG, and tell um that's what I was told on the forum.

my top tip (actually its in Laplandish Finnish on the instructions) Never hang a GG coat upside down on the line (common mistake) as the waterproofing agent is not actually designed to stay on the fabric if the coat is upside down! it'll just run off, you have been warned
