Further proof that Scotty Cameron addicts have more money than sense

I say a Scotty cleaning cloth on eBay the other day - bids around 10 quid.
For a duster........

Stick Scotty's name on a pile of Dog poo and someone will buy it.......

I have some advice for anyone who thinks that Scotty Cameron stuff isn't worth the money. Don't buy it.

Same applies to designer clothes, expensive wine, art, dinner at Heston Blumenthal's place etc etc etc.

The fact is that people will pay more money than you for some Scotty items and may well resell them for a profit. That Graffiti putter is not to my tastes and it will never fetch that asking price but is worth big money in the collectors market. There are certainly people who massively over ask on some of these but it is not always in the belief they will get price but setting that starting price may have a priming effect on later bids.

Or, put simply

Rare + Desirable x Collectable = Expensive

I don't think it's just a Scotty Cameron influence... a fool and his money n'that.

Point in case, someone on eBay is selling Manx 5p coins for £3 under the suggestion of using them as ball markers.

You're quite right SB it isn't only Scotty Cameron accessories that are over priced.

Some Bettinardi putters are silly money

Thing is. Once something becomes desirable, it adds a value to it.

Once that same thing becomes collectable, the value goes up again.

When the same item becomes rare, that's when the value goes through the roof!!

Be it a Scotty Cameron putter or a piece of fine art, the above still applies.
