I travelled back from my golf holiday in Spain yesterday. I flew out through Faro in Portugal, because that was the nearest airport. The air traffic control was on strike, so everything was delayed and the airport quite crowded. And who did I spot in the crowd? Andy and Piers from MeAndMyGolf. It felt a bit surreal, because I had just talked about them to one of my fellow golfers and suddenly there they were in the flesh :D. I called out to them (crazy fan girl that I am :whoo:) and said hello. They were super friendly and we exchanged a few pleasantries. They were waiting for their flight back to Manchester after a short filming trip to Portugal. But I forgot to take a picture with them, because it all happened so fast and I am not really used to the selfie-thing yet.

My own flight back was delayed for a bit over two hours and then could not land in Düsseldorf as originally planned but had to be re-routed to Cologne, resulting in a very long taxi ride as the only option to continue my journey. It was three o'clock at night when I finally made it home.

Sounds like you felt how I did when I met Nigel Mansell at Gatwick when I was travelling to Mauritius. " A clash of the Tash " you might say.

Steve Coogan at Belfast City Airport a while back, he sat right in front of my wife and I as well. I had always heard he was a bit hot headed but no way was I passing up the chance to meet him, shook his hand and told him I was a big fan and he couldn't have been nicer.

Cracking story Capella. :)
My Mum was in Zurich airport once and saw a man she recognised but couldn't place. In the end she went up to him and asked the old 'do I know you' question. The chap responded in kind with a few options of where they could possibly know each other from. Very congenial. After a good few minutes of deliberating my Mum finally worked it out to her horror! Roger Federer!!! He had a good laugh with her about it and gave her some autographed bits for my sister's kids who live out there.

They were at Astbury Hall today and I asked them if they'd had a nice conversation with a girl in Faro airport ;) to which they replied " Yes, a very nice German woman " :D

Told them I heard about it on the GM Forum and that they should pop in and have a look sometime.

They were there doing some filming and seemed to be practicing blindfolded

Saw Richard Boxall in a local pub recently. Nice guy (even nicer woman, assuming Mrs Boxall). HID had no idea who he was or what he achieved as a golfer and when she searched him on google it was mostly about that incident at the open. Of course, chatting to him as she was while I went to the bar, she had to mention it!

When we were at the Berkshire last week there was a table of 3 guys next to us and I recognised one face, but still can't put a name to him ?

v

they used to teach at our local range. Genuinely good lads. Piers used to be my coach. It's great to see em doing well.

Not at an airport but I was in a very popular restaurant in central London many years ago.
All the waiting staff were Chines students. There was a queue of about 5 people waiting for seats to empty. This place must be near the Lib Dem HQ as all of a sudden I noticed Paddy Ashdown and a young secretary and a few party dignitaries entering the restaurant. He went straight to the tills and obviously asked to jump the queue and be given preferential treatment. I just knew what was coming next. The Chinese waitress took one look at him, didn’t have a clue who he was and told him that they just go to the back of the queue and wait their turn, to which I heard him say, “no thank you I’d rather not do that” and they walked out. Should have seen the look on his face, priceless.
