Agreed. Which would imply stroke play. But why did you say you thought all his comps were matchplay?

Because if that were the case he couldn't play two balls. As a yank i have just assumed what you call comps were matchplay competitions.

Our handicap system is based entirely on strokeplay (incl s'ford) competitions.
However, a large proportion of 'Honour Board' competitions are played as 1 round of strokeplay followed by the top 32 (or 16 or 8, depending how far through the season it is) playing KO rounds to determine the winner. Others are straight strokeplay or straight KO matches.
Most inter club events though are played as matches (singles or BB). Whilst Open events are played as strokeplay.
