Is it really that hard to believe? If I told you he slices his drives, slices a fairway wood even more, chipping is so bad he has to use a chipper and he leaves every putt short, would you still find it funny that his impeccable irons have got him a 12 handicap?

In which case he is the perfect guy to play the tee shot on as many par3s as possible and shorter par4s where position off the tee is crucial ?

and I’ll add - if he misses a green then he doesn’t have to chip on - you do that - and off 12 his putting will be good so you chip close and he holes out for the par
