Yes i understand that, but it was suggested that i had lost the right to tee off first as the pairs captain as i had lost two holes in a trot so i had to allow my partner to tee off ahead of me

Could be worse - he could have suggested swapping partners. It isn't a rule that you have to swap though

There is no actual rule only one similar to the one about not mentioning the shermans!

I was pretty sure it wasnt, i was about to suggest we swopped anyway and then the young boy suggested he should tee first

Was my first time playing with these guys at a new club so i think he was trying it on.

He gave me very little encouragement and made no effort to help me look for my ball yet he helped the opposition find theirs, i am sure he was a muppet !

Erm....in a 4BBB how exactly did YOU lose 2 holes in a row? Your partner also lost those 2 holes.

One of the areas of 4BBB that many partners fail to take advantage of is that one partner can putt first even though he is nearer the hole. [Provided the other partner is furthest from the hole.]

I would steer clear of this lot in future.............

now get the free rules book that GM gave out:thup: and learn some key rules that you will come across plus KEEP A COPY IN YOUR BAG as there are always barrack room lawyers that swear a rule is genuine.

I played with a 4 handicapper who when practicing his swing beside his ball in the rough clipped it and sent it 3 feet away, he replaced it and said its ok as he was taking a practice swing it doesnt count

Apart from on the tee, there is a penalty for moving your ball with a practice swing and it must be replaced where it previously lay - not within 6 inches.

it's quite usual for a pair that's looking to 'change form' to switch who's teeing off first

however, there's the matter of how it's done and, of course, why you are playing that order in the first place!
