A few at Ascot expressed an interest in having a group game down here.

I've made some enquiries, so here goes.

Date. Friday Sept 3rd (Provisional)
Course. East Horton near Fair Oak.

Option 1.
Coffee and bacon baps on arrival
18 holes of the Greenwood Course
Lunch
18 holes of the Parkland Course
Dinner and dessert
£64

Option 2.
As above but with no dinner.
£52

Option 3
Coffee and bacon bap.
18 holes of the Greenwood Course.
Lunch.
£32

The above prices are the prices quoted to me from the club, and don't include any prizes. If prizes are to be included then a little would have to be added to the entry fee. Does everyone want prizes, or prefer to keep the costs down?

I'd definitely be up for another game on the Greenwood course, (that was the first one we played last week, wasn't it?). Two rounds was good, and even though the final 9 holes were my best on that day, I think one round would be enough for me.

Prizes are always good too...even though I never win anything, at least everyone is capable of the nearest the pin, and with a bit (lot) of practise I like to think I could give the long-drive challenge a go. Doesn't have to be clubs and bags and stuff, like at Royal Ascot. I'd be happy with a few balls or a glove or something.

Can I register a tentative interest in this Graham?
Sounds like a good day out and its not a bad run down from here to there - takes about as long as it took to get to RA yesterday!!

HH, I'd like to come and have a knock at a new course(s).

That date would be out for me though (that would make 90 holes over 3 days for me ), if you do consider other dates then i would definately be interested

I'm interested too if it was a bit later (eg: Friday 17th).

There's a meet already on the 20th August (Cooden Beach) and two in a fortnight would kill me :)

Any of the 3 options would be fine, although I do like the concept of two rounds as you get the opportunity to spend a little more time with people.

I'm definitely in for this and agree with James, with Cooden beach at the end of August, Sep 17th is the preferred option.
Plus of course we all get to meet Robobum. :)

Golfmmad.

Didn't you meet him at The Addington? Surely, he's not that unforgetable :D :D :p

Might possibly be up for this one myself if in Sept, 36 holes, and if I can arrange local accommodation for the night :o

There's no shortage of accomodation in the area. The Club also owns the Hotel at Marwell Zooalogcial(sp) Park, which is a short trip up the road. I don't know if there'd be any deals to be had?

Sorry. I didn't really explain, my (unmarried) son lives close by and I would feel obliged to give him plenty of warning if I wanted to stay on a Friday night

Apologies to Robobum if I did meet him at the Addington - really can't remember :o

Most left straight after the presentation, so I didn't get a chance for a chat. Suppose people wanted to get home and get out of wet clothing.

Golfmmad.

I could be up for this, and would prefer 36 holes, although is there enough daylight on the 17th Sept for 36? My torch batteries tend to die after about 3 hours.

I'd love to do it, but at the risk of sounding unenthusiastic I have to be a cautious 'maybe'.

Depends on cost, work, time, HID, etc. I'm rubbish at committing to anything this far ahead.

:o
