Forget playing - how many hours per week do you actually PRACTICE?

Wow! I can't believe people practice so little, me included.
I was thinking this post might motivate me to practice when everyone replied with their routines - nope. Nada. Zilch. Zero.

Is it only me that's surprised by the apparent lack of practice shown in this thread?

I play 18 holes every weekend, and 9 holes 2 or 3 times in the week.

If I cant get out to do the 9 holes I will spend an hour on the range, chipping and putting.

I normally play one round at the weekend and try to get a few holes in during the week.

In terms of practice I try to get to the practice area or putting green two to three times during the week. Sometimes I pop along for half hour chipping on to the pracice putting green during my lunch hour. At the practice area I will be there for about an hour working on wedges from 75 yards and in, even chipping over the practice bunker on to the small green. Have only practiced my mid irons approx twice this summer.

I used to go to the range and hit irons and drives, but my practice has changed this summer, - for the better ? would say so, have more confidence around the green now.

At the start of the year I was at the range at least twice a week, but then a combination of things (work, marriage, holidays etc etc..) has put paid to that. My play has deteriorated significantly and it's all due to trying to change my swing without putting in the time to groove it.

Must try harder ;)

I am definitely seeing the benefit of a less is more strategy. I'm only going to the range once or twice a week and playing nine holes if I need a fix between times. I'm playing much better with less technical crap in my head getting in the way. Wish I'd done it two years ago

I went to the range last night after not picking up a bat for 4 weeks. At the start it was like I didn't know which end to hold the club never mind how to swing... I picked up a bit of rhythm after the first 30 or so and hit some decent shots.

Need more practice though, much more.

If our club had decent practice facilities I would definantly put them to good use. As they are I don't see real benefit from spending time on there.

I do practice but it is all done out on the course. I'll spend a decent amount of time up by our 2nd green (out of site of clubhouse) late during summer evenings. Just chipping and pitching.
