FOREST PINES GOLF COURSE

Be careful though Guys. I played the 'humble' golf course I am a member of today after playing Pines last week and I felt riddled with guilt.
It felt like I had been lucky enough to have a brief affair with a stunning 18 yr old girl and then today I had to return to the wife and was gutted to back in the boring world of reality. If you get my gist !!!!

Bloody good job the wife don't read this !!!

I might have played your wife Barney, where is she? :D

Oh I don't think I would dare say now in case any members are reading this but lets just say its on the outskirts of Hull. What I can say for sure is if it wasnt for the fact I would have to travel and pay to cross the Humber Bridge I would seriously consider joining Forest Pines.

I had my old mum up that way yesterday for a nostalgic return to place of birth/school etc........did Swanland/Skidby/Walkington/Cottingham/Little weighton
is it near one of them???? :D

I have played it and have very fond memories!

Well worth £50 never mind £25.

Designed by the late John Morgan (English ex U.S Senior tour player)

I know his son very well.

I used to be a member of Cottingham but far too busy. If you said South Cave you would be extremely warm !!!
I have to admit I love my club. It is pretty basic but never busy and hard enough for my standard of golf.
I just think when you play a course as pristine as Pines and realise its not a million miles away from home it kick starts the mind and dirty thoughts of joining can easily start running through your head !!!!

Pretty sure I know where Barney is it Brough or that one near evethorpe or whatever its called?

Cave Castle.
Brough is a nice course but expensive as it is one of the few courses in our area that has not dropped the joining fee!!!
Members club I suppose instead of privately owned.

I played Brough some years back, in fact a lot of years back, but Ive never played your place, is it worth the journey (passing that 18 yr old on the way)? :D

Again I dont want to be too disrespectful to the wife but I wouldnt travel too far to see her.
There are a few decent courses areound here, Brough, Hessle and Hornsea to name a few but in my opinion none of the standard of Forest Pines.
You wouldnt believe heaven was hidden away in Sunny Scunny would yer !!!!

Oh thats ok mate. I am happy with her and im sure soon the dirty thoughts will leave my head and Forest Pines will just be a distant happy memory.

But one day, yes maybe one day I would like to return but I will keep that visit to myself !!!!
What the wife doesnt know dont hurt her !!!!

;) ;) ;)

I pass Forset Pines every morning going into the office (live on the North bank, but work in Scunthorpe), and it does look a cracking, if unforgiving, course!

I recently joined my first ever club Normanby Hall, as it suits me by being handy from both home and the office, now while my experience of courses and indeed golf is very limited I can also reccommend Normanby as a great course which is in fine fettle! A couple of testing holes on there too, though very little in the way of water hazards, just two or threee little streams, plenty of tree lined fairways and the greens are in great nick. Green Fees around £15 to £17.50.
