Ford Mondeo gone..

My mate had one, he was so happy with he was just going to replace it with another. Something about the new one nagged him before buying it, checking the brochure he realised the new on was bigger and would not fit in his garage (he lives on a main road) and does not have a drive.

Same here. Looked so good in that electric blue.

Problem I always had with the Mondeo was the stupidly small and unflared wheel arches, even on the ST with 17" rims. They always looked disproportionate to the rest of the car because of it.

Second gen Duratec was the single worst engine made IMO, the followers sounded like tap shoes way too quickly.

I can understand the SUV trend.. what i dont get is the pickup one... see a couple of Ford Rangers... they are massive. one of my neigbhour drives a Hilux.. mostly sits in his driveway. One of the gardner has a ranger (understandable as he lugs his tools in it.) The whole pickup thing is American and I feel the roads in this country are too small for them

Tax dodge;)
Pickups were taxed differently to cars, as they were classed like a van. Or they were;)

As they (and parking spaces) are for SUVs.
Stupid name too. Nothing sporty about a big barge.

I drive a Mondeo. A fabulous fit for my away golf trips, can easily seat 3 adults and the boot swallows 3 bags and 3 electric trolleys.

Quiet, comfortable and economical so does me just fine.
I was thinking of a maybe a 2nd hand Mondeo to replace my Hyundai I40, must be an automatic .

Will the boot hold a cart bag and a GoKart, if the longer woods are taken out of the bag ?
I'll probably be looking for replacement car shortly .

In normal times I have a locker but currently am having to put my bag and push trolley in the boot.

You might get everything in the boot but you might need to put the woods behind the front seat.

I had a Focus for 10 years and usually kept the bag in the back seat, because the boot was full of tools and work materials
No work stuff to worry about now .

There is a classic top gear where Clarksen makes exactly that point.

I think the 1st car I drive was a Mondeo, my parents one. Or I might have driven their Sierra before that as well, can’t remember the timeline. Started driving in 1993.
Basically just a standard car, I can’t even remember the colour, that’s how forgettable it was. I know it was a Mondeo because my mum wracked 2 Sierras and they stopped making them and they moved across.
